The Cruise

This is the sister ship of the ship on which we recently spent two weeks.  The ships are supposedly identical in every way.  The Infinity was with us most of the trip until after the Panama Canal.  Our ship, the Millenimum, was constructed in 2000!  Apparently it was quite unusual that three ships belonging to Celebrity crossed the Panama Canal on the same day.  It took almost 9 hours, so it didn't seem like that big of a deal to me that three ships from the same fleet would be going across on the same day.  But I'm just in it for the travel.  What would I know.

Needless to say, it was an incredible journey.  We ate like pigs, gaining at least 7 pounds each.  Now we are in the process of getting back to a good diet with good food at home.  Each of us has already lost several of the pounds which we so easily gained.

My two thoughts on this trip: it's hotter than Hades on those ports and islands where we stopped, and America is so blessed that I continue to be amazed at our bountifulness which God has given us.  I, for one, know that I am not often grateful enough to Him to show my thanks for this beautiful country!

The laundry is done, the house is clean, and there are groceries in the pantry again.

Now I am preparing to travel to North Carolina to stay with the boys, leaving sweet Hubby here to tend to the pets, yard, and house while I am gone.  Who in the world ever came up with the word "retirement?"

  1. For better understanding, retirement village is a common term used to describe a community of housing facilities for the seniors and retirees especially made for those over a certain age.

  2. Actually, we do live in what was once referred to as a "retirement village." We love the golf courses, lakes, etc. My point is that "retirement" does not mean simply sitting back and letting life pass. One retires from work to work and serve even more, if one is truly blessed.
