Thanksgiving was wild, wonderful, and everything that I've missed in the holiday since my dad died. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking, but then our little daughter-in-law helped more than I could ever imagine, baking breakfast casseroles, pies, a cake, and other goodies. Granddad and I slipped away with the two older grands to see the dinosaur exhibit. It was good to be outside. The children appeared to enjoy the display and the museum with live snakes and other live reptiles. Both boys and Emily ended up sick. The boys were both diagnosed with bronchitis, one was borderline pneumonia. They have a virus, which some of the adults managed to get. Emily's throat is still undiagnosed. And it is looking as if both grandparents will have doctor visits tomorrow. Symptoms include coughing, sore throat, and low-grade fever... It was all worth it for this grandparent. When everyone had gone yesterday, and rain was pouring down, my heart felt as if it could break. It was so sad for me to see those precious children leave. We will get to see the boys in a month, but not sure how long before we see Emily again. The house is miraculously back in order. Only a couple of small things are missing (out of place). Those will turn up before long, and we will wonder how they got to wherever it is that we find them. LOL! Counting linens, rugs, throws, dirty clothing, etc., the laundry count may have topped 10 loads yesterday. Blessings, Sandy
