So this is the homemade Tomato Basil Soup with Ricotta Dumplings that I made this afternoon. It was a gray rainy day, and we ate it outside on the patio. Our entertainment was the amazing show of the birds. They were darting and diving in for dinner at the feeders. It was a perfect ending to a nice relaxed day.
I did get my ears checked this morning, as it was day 4 with a dull ache. The doctor reported that my ears looked fine. In fact, he could find nothing wrong with me. Yea!
We are concerned about our daughter-in-law who only learned yesterday that her biopsy on her tongue showed a malignancy. She won't be able to see another specialist until next Thursday. I hate the waiting for us, but more for her. Having gone through the cancer routine, I know first hand that the waiting is not fun.
It is looking as if I may be flying to NC to help out daughter number one so that she can go to help out daughter number two. That's how it works in our family.
I joked last night to a friend who attended the Charity Circle with me at church that I could almost put out a sign-up sheet for our family for the ladies at the circle to volunteer to assist our family. I am appreciating my mother more and more every day of my life, and I am now 62. It is amazing to me!
The house is clean. The trash is out (I remembered this week). The laundry is done. Tomorrow is a much needed pedicure (no picture of old toes or old feet that are no longer attractive) and more planning.
We are going to nearby friends' home to a dinner. It should be a fun evening.
Thank you, God, for rain, for answered prayers, for your complete love, and for your wonderful gift of grace.
