Monday, Monday

What an incredible day!

Hubby woke me up early so that I could get going with my "to do" list before our company was to arrive around 4:30 PM.

I had two cups of coffee to get me going and to sip as I read my devotional.  These devotionals are so positive that they really keep me on higher ground.  I will be sorry when I am finished with them, but I did order two more books from The Upper Room.

The bird cages were one of the first items on the "to do" list.  I cleaned the two larger cages, switched out the birdies water, and took a small swipe at the sleep cages.  The birdies are never pleased to have their territory invaded, so I was an unwelcome visitor.

There were two loads of laundry that I managed to get dried and put away.

Another item on the list was unloading the dishwasher.  It is not a favorite job so I saved it for last.

Next came my Hero - the man who would put an end to the ants that were marching in by the tens.  I think that they are already taken care of, although David, the technician, said that it might take two or three days.  Yeah!  No More Ants!!!!

Charles took the propane tank with him to golf when he left, so his assignment, should he accept it, was to fill the propane tank, then stop by for deli meat and cheese for the Tuesday arrivals.

All items were accomplished by mid-afternoon and even a few more, such as hubby trying to fall off of a folding wooden ladder that began to sink in the damp soil.  I screamed into the ear piece of the telephone, as I was watched Hubby on his way falling over.  I'm sure our contractor will regain his hearing.  I did rescue the ladder and Hubby!  Praise God!

I put on a crock-pot chicken, potatoes, and carrots, and I was finished!

Our guests arrived on time.

We had a lovely dinner on the patio, then had a nice walk around the neighborhood, viewing the lake as we went.

I had to explain to our guests that although I read a lot of articles on exercise and health, that was the most exercise that I've had in weeks!

Once again, I'm caught without the pictures I took today.  I have not yet downloaded them.  I took pictures of some yellow bushes that are blooming in our woods, some Queen Anne's lace that was growing along the roadside on our walk, and a few other nature shots.

Today was wonderful, reuniting with old friends.

Tomorrow's promises are of young grandsons and their parents.

Thank you, God, for this beautiful day and for the safety that you provided for our visitors.
