Hank and Mom in the kitchen helping with dessert on Wednesday afternoon.
Our sweet friends from Allen, TX, came on Monday, and we spent two delightful days exploring the lovely Garvin Gardens in Hot Springs and showing them around the Village.
We did a lot of bird watching and enjoyed catching the squirrels trying to get to the bird feeders. Those squirrels are little rascals, but oh, so cute! What wonderful entertainment they are!
We even managed to get in a game of Hand and Foot last night. It's not worth mentioning, though. I am a sore loser. Does that tell you anything....
Around 2 PM yesterday, the family "on the move" came driving up. They had been to west Texas to visit family there, then on for our family get-together here in Arkansas. How wonderful to see them all. The grandsons had grown and matured since the last time I saw them, six months ago. I usually don't go that long without seeing them, but I wanted to finish my Bible study that I had started without interruption. And before I could even plan to return, they received orders to move. Life happens.
I can't describe how I feel right now. It's like Thanksgiving and Christmas wrapped up in one big happy bundle and handed to me in the heat of June. It is exhilarating! It is exciting! It is pure joy, love, and happiness.
Tomorrow more company will arrive, then two more families on Friday.
Dear God, thank you for these special times when families can come together to share stories, make memories, and break bread together in Your Name.
