Here are two pictures from our recent hiking trip to The Olympic Peninsula in Washington. I am still basking in the glow of the beauty of all that we saw. It will hopefully be enough to take me through the rest of the hot days here in North Texas...

I worked the first three days of these weeks. It was interesting being back in the school setting with children in the building. We won't start having classes in the library until next week, so it was fun being out and about in the building lending a hand where I could.

Today I purchased material for a lap quilt for Williams IV new home. They closed today. I'm eager to make the trip to Colorado and see their new loft.

The middle family seems to adjusted to the routine of the older son starting kindergarten. Only the little brother is feeling a bit out of sorts with having the "big" guy gone all day. The older boy's reply to his mother's question of 'how was the first day,' was, "Mom, it's only school. I didn't even learn how to read today..."

Our younger daughter and her family seem to be settling into life with 8 hours of sleep at night, as the wee one has decided that it is, indeed, okay to not visit with mommy during the night hours.

Not much new. I'm just catching up on some great James Patterson novels. I'm listening to Sunday at Tiffany's on cassette and reading Sail. Both are excellent.

Tomorrow morning begins the new routine of walking for an hour. Thanks to my good friend, Linda, for suggesting that we walk together.

As far as the personal trainer goes, we are playing phone tag, and she is "it."

Quick Meal

2 long sausages (I used Italian chicken) from the meat market

Whole Wheat Pasta

Salad Fixin's

Large can of Tomato Sauce

Cut the sausages into pieces and cook for about 15 minutes in a pan sprayed with Pam

Cook the pasta per directions on the box

Heat the tomato sauce and season with Italian seasonings

Serve the sausage and sauce over the pasta with a salad on the side.

Serves 2

Blessings on your day,

Sandy

  1. Beautiful photos and a great recipe! I had to laugh at the post below... the "nice" you vs. the "other" you. Not that it's funny... but I can relate! I hope school has gotten off to a great start- both on and off camera! Love y'all!
