Day began at 6:15 am in this household this morning. How appropriate that I would be up at the crack of dawn with my favorite 2-year old this morning. LOL!!!
I am amazing myself at how I can get the three of us dressed, fed, and out the door in time to get Harry to his camp by 9 am. It's the car seats that seem to take so much time. I can now see why drive-through "anythings" are successful.
After dropping Harry off, Hankster and I set off for the Target on the far end of town. Being a Super Target meant one stop shopping. LOL!!! We purchased our usual fare of Diet Coke for me, juice drink for him, and popcorn to share before tackling our list. We purchased a potty chair, toys, crayons, play dough, and various groceries.
When I went to strap Hankster into his car seat he informed me that he wasn't getting in because he had "yucky" in his diaper. I can now say that I've conquered the art of diapering a standing child in the hot Colorado heat in a parking lot. Thank goodness for a nearby trash can!
Back home we had lunch, then I put Hank down for his afternoon nap. I should say that he didn't have an afternoon nap. He did do a marvelous job of redecorating his room, instead. The boy does not waste time!
I put beef stroganoff on to simmer while we ran to get Harry. Of course, Hank fell asleep immediately in the car. It's a short trip, so he didn't get but a 5 minute nap.
Harry is enjoying his camp. I love hearing him tell of the lunches most of all. "Nana, I had the neatest area at lunch today."
"Yes, well, why?"
"All I ate was my banana, because they served hamburgers and salad again today."
I offered to prepare a lunch for him to take, but he refused. He doesn't like sandwiches was his reply.
Perhaps all of that explains why the sweet little thing ate 4 hot dogs for dinner. Remember that there was beef stroganoff. But he doesn't like meat mixed with anything. And he didn't like the ham last night, either. He's as picky as our first two children were. LOL!!! But the little guy was downing those hotdogs this evening.
It was a good day. I realize that I am just bone weary from lifting the little guy and going up and down stairs in the altitude. Other than that, life is pretty grand. Of course I miss my sweet husband.
Jan, thank you for posting. I knew when I posted yesterday that I was feeling way sorry for myself. I had a great pity party last night and got in a good cry, which I think is good for the soul.
I continue to thank God for the energy that I have, the way that things are working out, and the fact that our daughter is enjoying the trip of a lifetime.
Blessings on your day,
Sandy
