Our Fourth Grandchild Is Here!
One week, seven days, memories to last a lifetime!
Our fourth grandchild, second granddaughter, was born on Wednesday of this week. She was due to arrive last Sunday, but chose to miss her due date. She was more or less scheduled to come on Friday, as the obstetrician decided to induce early on June 27.
As soon as our daughter called Tuesday morning to tell us that she was having contractions, we began preparations for leaving our home (earlier in the week than we had orginally scheduled) and making the drive to west Texas.
Upon arrival we discovered our daughter and her husband in the middle stages of her labor with contractions coming hard, but not so fast. Little did we realize that it would be almost 24 more hours before our youngest grandchild entered the world.
Although we didn't plan, and I had never dreamed that it would happen, I was able to be with our daughter and her husband throughout the entire Wednesday morning session of pushing (2 1/2 hours) and to witness the birth of the baby. If I were 45 years younger and had the brains, I'd be an obstetrician. What a job!
Little Charlie was born on her uncle's birthday, June 25, at 2 PM. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 8 oz. and was 20 1/4" long. The most amazing thing about her appearance was, and still is, a thick head of black hair.
I have lived a lifetime of miracles. They never cease to amaze me. This last one has me praising God for all miracles, great and small. Our God is an awesome God, and He is so very good!!!
Blessings on your week,
Sandy
