I made it to yoga this morning. When it was time to "wake-up," take up our mats, and walk, I still wanted to lie there relaxing. Sometimes exercise can be brutal!
After changing shoes, I plugged in my iPod and hot-footed it around the indoor track for a mile and a half. Our son-in-law has great taste in music. I was quite the little bunny running around that track. Not only that, but I was probably the youngest one there except for one trainer.
Returning home, I found the house to be unusually warm. It seems that the ac had decided to set itself on 78 without asking us how we felt about that. I had to work with it for about 15 minutes to get the "cool" to come on. Needless to say, I didn't accomplish much in a house that was 78 on the inside while my body was even warmer than that! And on top of it all, I discovered that the return air grill needs to be dusted!
I talked to both of the grandchildren who are school age this week. The freshman, who started her new school on Monday, seems to be doing fine. She is taking two honor/AP classes plus Spanish III. I think that she's the youngest in her Spanish class. And she is taking Algebra II and Trig, integrated. I am so impressed with her! She's also playing on the basketball team. At 5' 10", she should be an asset to the team.
The little guy, a second grader, who went to a charter school in CO last year, wore uniforms, and ate his lunch in the classroom has been introduced to dressing within the parameters of a dress code, eating in a "noisy cafeteria" (his words), and riding a bus in his new home state of NC. He loves it!
Meantime, Hubby and I are planning for how we are going to attend three receptions in three states in his honor in three days. All of these are to mark his retirement into the world of golf, travel, and leisure.
I am also planning on the day after all of those receptions are over. I don't want the parties to be over and the sweet man I married to wake up and find that for the first time since he had a paper route at age 11, he is unemployed! As I said before, life can be cruel...
And now, I'm calling it quits for the day. It is Day 1 without the Dynacirc, the medicine that may be making me tired and causing my ankles to swell. But I must remember to monitor the blood pressure tomorrow. And I'm still tired, meds or no meds. We "shall" get to the bottom of this. Bring on the sleep study!
