July 14

Tomorrow is a big day for our family.  Emily will have her wisdom teeth removed (prayers for a speedy recovery, Em!), my brother will have his birthday, my hubby will get a second opinion from the cardiologist about an upcoming procedure, and I have a meeting at church to see about starting a new adult Sunday school class.

Today I got a hair-cut with the same lady who cut Em's hair two weeks ago and am pleased with the results.  From my hair-cut, I went across the parking lot and checked in with the doctor.  My main concern is the blood in my eye near my iris.  The doctor was concerned and wanted me to see an ophthalmologist right away, but when I put a call in to that office, the lady who answered assured me that if there wasn't any pain, that it was just a broken blood vessel.  I'll wait and see how it looks tomorrow....

In the meantime, I am over my pity party of being overwhelmed with so much going on right now.  The first child's baby is going to be induced on August 2, the second child's family moves into their new home (with my help) in NC next week, and my class reunion is also around the corner.

If that isn't enough my husband did not pass his stress test.  For the past 16 years, since his 5-way bypass, he has received great "grades" on his test.  Not so this year.  It appears that one main artery is clogged at least 30%.

It seems like a lot for one family at one time, but I reminded myself that that's the way it always happens, and that I must be strong and keep the faith.  God will be there for each of us to lean upon.

I think that my biggest fear is that a procedure for my husband could interfere with the help that I want to be able to provide for the new parents a short five days later.  Well, that is not my biggest fear, but it is heavy on my heart.  Praise God that Charles' sister has offered to go to assist with our two-year old granddaughter if need be, while "Mom" is in the hospital with the new baby.

Bible study this afternoon, "A Jump, Hop, and Skip Through the Bible" was thought-provoking.  I enjoyed the discussion.  And the short church service that followed was just what I needed to put a nice "stamp" on my day.

I found this photo of Charlie and me at St. Andrews when we went to England.  Those were happy days.  I want to end today's writing on a cheerful note, so this is a great picture for that.
