Middle of the Week

Yesterday on the dam coming home looking out over Lake Balboa this was my beautiful view.

Yesterday was very busy, cleaning and organizing things that I just hadn't taken the time to do.  With company coming, it seems important to get things out of the way.

After my day I came home and tended to the yard.  Here are a few pictures of our back.  I have no idea what that bug is on the citronella plant.  He looks as if he means business.  I think that he lives on the plant, as I've seen him on there more than once.

Once inside I spent some quality time with the birdies, who were more than delighted to stay for a photo shoot.  Skye is our little blue girl in the top photo; Bogey is the green boy on the bottom photo.

Today the laundry is caught up, but the last little hole left for me to take care of is my hobby stuff in the garage.  I purchased two big clear containers.  I'm waiting for energy to get out there in the heat and just do it!

We have been invaded by ants in our pantry.  And there are some strange "bugs" that look remotely like roaches.  I am so hoping that is not what they are.  In six months I've only seen three, but one of them was tonight.

And some huge critter turned over one of the large planters by the little waterfall yesterday.

I may declare war on the Alpha Squirrel if he doesn't leave the little orange tree alone.  He had thrown dirt out of the pot, so I put the pot "up" on a stand.  Tonight I saw the little bugger up in the pot, just digging away.  There is dirt all around the base of the stand.  Grrrrr!

If you look closely,  you can see Alpha Squirrel's little white tummy on the bird feeder to the far right.  I actually saw this critter jump, fly, whatever, from the birdbath to the feeders.

After treating myself to a pedicure and manicure today, I dropped off a CD at the library and picked up books for the grands.  I enjoy reading with them.

Then I browsed the latest art work that was hanging in the halls.  We have some very talented local artists here.

Next I went to the Coronado Center and picked up a new schedule for classes.  I really need to get there to do some exercising.

On the way home, I dropped off forms at the POA office and lamented about my lack of a good hair dresser to the lady there.  Her reply, "Well, good luck.  I've been 20 years and havent' found anyone yet."  The forms are for our visitors so that they can do some of the activities with us around the Village.

This afternoon, I've tried to read, do laundry, go through the stack of "to do" lists, and make plans for tomorrow.  I even watched a bit of HGTV.

And now in true Gracie fashion, "Good Night."
