We all have an "off" day every now and then, and today was my day. Things that I thought would go fine, didn't. And as I get older and feel I have my heart in the right place, and things go "sour," then I start to feel "not so great."
Just one of those days...
And I think that I may swear off of ever discussing politics again. There is absolutely nothing to be gained by it. If people should agree with me, I don't feel any better, and if they disagree, then I feel worse. What's the point? I mean really, what is the point???
The contractor did not show up today. Let's see, that water feature was going to be finished -- Thursday (yesterday's Thursday)... Not a big surprise. That's just how it is. And since we sorta, kinda expected it, we are not disappointed. I am disappointed in comments that two friends who stopped by made, mentioning that the water feature might attract snakes. Oh, my gosh. Please, not snakes.
And although I charged my camera battery today, I did not take one photo.
If I had had my camera at hand this afternoon while sitting quietly on the back patio, I would have had a prized picture, but alas, it was in the kitchen, in my purse.
I kept hearing leaves moving in the woods. I trained my ears and my eyes, and I was rewarded with with a doe and a fairly new fawn. It was a precious sight!
We made the usual Friday run to Farmer's Market and picked up our stash for the week. We are trying our first ever organic broccoli. I had no idea that it looked like that! I can hardly wait to cook it. Actually, I can hardly wait to cut it. I love to eat the stems raw.
We went out for catfish this evening. We were to meet friends there, and while we were waiting our "new" friends that we had met last week there showed up. So we had six at our table. I will mention that I had grilled catfish. Does it still count, even though the "grilled" was on a deli-style grill and not a flame grill?
I'm focusing on my one pound loss. Now that one pound is my loss after losing all that I gained since we moved here and the one additional pound.
Since I have no new pictures for today, here's where we were about a year ago with the house construction.
This is the patio outside of the sun room.
This shows the main patio and the sun room patio. The large patio is where our table and chairs are located now.
Once the bricking began, it seemed to go really quickly. My brother, who works for ABC Block, was a huge help in selecting the brick that we wanted.
This is looking at the dining room windows and doors going into the sun room.
And this photo shows the third patio outside our bedroom. It looks a lot different this year!
And here we are a year ago in our "old" home in Texas. I intentionally made this picture "smaller" because I'm wearing a "big" shirt, and I look bigger. LOL!
I have absolutely nothing on my docket for tomorrow other than trying a new recipe for chicken casserole. And of course, I'll be serving it with some of that yummy fresh broccoli and homemade bread from the Amish.
God's Richest Blessings on all of the men and women who have served and continued to serve and upon their families. Thank you!!!
It was hard to write today. My heart felt God's joy and love, but it wasn't reaching my brain. I just felt sad. Fortunately tomorrow is a new day. And it will be beautiful!
