It's a New Day - Early!

Who ever heard of a crow tapping so hard on a skylight that it sounded like a burglar trying to get in???  Well that is what woke me this morning at 6:50 am.  I am not a violent person, but had I a way to be rid of that dude this morning, it might have happened!

Not long afterwards the contractor, who is building the water feature showed up to begin work in earnest.
This is the slope in the backyard on Monday.
These are the rocks and how they looked this morning early.

This is how the water feature looked this evening.  Progress is quick!

When the contractor is finished here, he'll build me a raised bed, which "if" I wanted to wait 5 years to plant something, "might" be considered organic.  I'll just take "free of chemicals," if it is okay with all.

My current "organic" garlic, which was, but isn't, didn't turn out so great.  I'm thinking that the water retention is causing the garlic heads to rot.  I can tell that I wasn't cut out to be a farmer, but I am not giving up quickly.  Perhaps the raised bed will "save" me.

This afternoon, after a trying run to Cranfords, the closest of the grocery stores in this area, I went to an Emmaus Reunion meeting for the first time here and the first time in a few years.  I was richly rewarded by spiritual sharing, enthusiasm in the Lord, and  understanding for my sinful nature by my sisters in Christ.

It wasn't an earth-shattering day by any one's standards.  It was a day of making progress on the "to do"list, which I will take any day.

I did succeed in making my first ever tee-time for another couple and ourselves for Sunday after church.  I'm thinking that it is going to be hot, so I am already thinking of buying a chamois that the girls here wear around their necks to keep from fainting like Scarlett in Gone with the Wind.

These are some of what one needs to round up for golf in the Village:

1.  Water jug with ice and water (make that large)
2.  Sunscreen
3.  Golfing equipment
4.  Snacks (hidden so that the crows don't carry them away)
5.  Hat  or visor to protect eyes and head from sun
6.  Sunglasses so that you can see the ball

In preparing for tomorrow nights' flotilla, I made appetizers, which daughter number 2 highly recommended.  If the sandwiches turn out nicely (I used dry mustard instead of prepared), I'll gladly share her recipe.  They are wonderful looking little sandwiches which are put together with a sauce poured over.  They are to stay in the fridge overnight, then be baked before serving.  Since one of the ingredients is that delicious Hawaiian bread, I have no question of the rolls being delicious, dry mustard or not.  Besides, I've never followed a recipe correctly in my life, which is some sort of major brain mal-function not yet discovered...

I have stories.  I don't need to make these up.  They are true.  I
kid you not!

And I must be the only human on the planet that feels that television is almost not worth having anymore.  The shows are ridiculous.  The reality stuff grates on my nerves.  The violent stuff doesn't do anything for me, but scare me out of my wits.  And even HGTV is all repeats at night.  I am listening to instrumental music right now on television, which is about as good as it gets, as far as I am concerned.

Good-night and blessings on your dreams.
