Day 2: I Made it to the Second Day!

Last night I was starting to wonder if I’d be able to walk straight today. My back was really hurting. I’m not sure if it was all of the lifting of our heavy two-year old or the amount of walking on the track and time on the stationary bike that sent me into pain. Today is a new day, though! We still haven’t heard from our daughter, but assume that she has arrived safely at her destination. The boys are up like clockwork at 7: 00 am each morning. It is amazing. Breakfast and picking out outfits follow. I had forgotten the getting dressed ritual and how much fun it is not! I put a roast and potatoes in to cook in the crock-pot before getting us all out the door for a fun trip to Target. I am using my friend, Beverly’s recipe, that daughter, Amy, left for me to prepare. The Target trip this morning was a “surprise” for the boys, as I told them that they could each pick out a toy for $10.00. This was the opening of several conversations on money and spending. I couldn't believe how well behaved they were in the store. We also purchased fourteen pairs of socks for the older boy and nine for the younger one. Those will replace all of the lonely “orphan” socks that I tossed out this morning. I love to recycle, but for once, I could think of no use for those little boy socks. The socks are history... The afternoon has been quiet with our younger boy napping. His trip to Target and the huge responsibility of picking out the perfect toy wore him out! I am doing my second load of laundry and planning a trip to a near-by park after nap-time, weather permitting. Who knows, if I don’t hurt as badly tonight as I did last night, I may tackle the YMCA again in the morning. The exercise is good for me, and the boys seem to enjoy the play time with other children in a safe environment. For now, I am so grateful to my good health that affords me the ability to be here helping out this sweet family. They are all so appreciative (except at naptime and bedtime). Blessings on your day, Nana
