This was where we were less than 7 months ago, a beautiful island, the highlight of our trip to Greece. I doubt if anyone goes back to see the photos for past months, so I thought that with the weather threatening to get nasty, it would be a perfect time to revisit this island. I made the new year through 5 days of exercise before I a) got tired b) it was cold outside 3) didn't feel well 4) all of the above. Two days ago I stopped in at Target and purchased a small walking threadmill that I can push under the bed. Today I saw the pulmonary allergist. He spent a good hour with both Charles and myself, thoroughly explaining things and discussing my cough and possible causes. I came away with five new drugs to take/use for a month, gradually tapering off as I get better. My return appointment is in a month. He is treating me as if the cough were caused by a lingering viral infection, allergies, and/or reflux (as far as I can tell). His main goal right now is for me to see light at the end of the tunnel. I've coughed for so long that I'm exhausted from it. I didn't even tell him about the torn muscles in my back from coughing so much in late November. Charles has said that I can have another parrotlet for my birthday. My heart is full of joy. I love our little girl so much that I can't imagine having yet another precious little one. I am convinced that Skye will like "him" as much as I. The two older grandchildren are celebrating birthdays this month. The middle grandchild, soon to be four, received his card from us today. When his mommy read him the note that we couldn't attend his party, he crumpled into tears of disappointment, according to his mommy. There is such great rewards in being loved by a little child. I praise God for the three grandchildren. The hour is late. The day has been long. I praise God for this day, for our family, our friends, our health, and those who defend our country. I especially pray for God's blessings on our deployed troops and their families and also for all men and women who have served our country.
