Yes, my 44th class reunion was absolutely painless. I've made new friends on FB from FHS that I never even knew before this reunion. So, I got to visit with "old" friends and meet many new ones.
One of the best surprises of the weekend was getting to meet three aunts and three cousins for lunch (last minute planning) and getting to have breakfast with my brother. What a wonderful treat that was for me.
And the biggest bonus of all was the time that my sweet husband and I got to spend talking to each other in the car for the four hour trip up and the four hour trip back. We have had little time to really talk lately. It was just more wonderful than I can describe. I feel as if our lives have been on "fast forward" for the past six weeks. And I have a feeling that the pace is going to last for another 4 weeks.
The break that I took from FB was great for my eyes. I found that I was very productive without the games to play. I also felt very content. I actually enjoyed dropping into bed exhausted from helping with unpacking, sorting, and placing things in the home of our older daughter and her family. And there is no doubt that they both appreciated my efforts. It was actually fun.
Of course, I have funny stories of getting into the shower with no soap, getting lost on a Wal-Mart run, seeing someone arrested by undercover cops at Sonic, etc.
Hopefully I can download/upload some pictures tomorrow.
Now, I am just so content to be in our home with my husband, our birdies, and the promise of Julissa coming on Tuesday to clean....
I am a blessed woman, indeed.
