Mixed Bag

Since I finally got around to downloading the pictures from Sunday, yesterday, and today, there isn't any "theme" to my day today.

On Sunday we played 18 holes of golf in some weather that had many scrambling to get in out of the lightening and thunder.  Not us.  I was shooting my newest course record and didn't want to quit.  We finished all holes with our friends, Linda and Jim.  The cloud cover cooled things off and made it possible to play the back nine quite comfortably.

This is the pond by the 9th hole. There are American flags along the back border and a family of Canada geese on that back side, as well.

On Monday we attended a Memorial Day cookout at the home of friends who live on one of the mountains here.  Here are some beautiful shots of their view off of their back deck and sun room.

This morning we started off with a walk in our neighborhood.
I took a picture of what might be a crab apple tree, some lovely wild flowers growing in the thicket by our property, and serene pictures of the lake by our house.

It was a nice walk and  a great way to get our day started.
We were surprised when our contractor (water feature) passed by us in his truck.  Progress today!

And so this afternoon when we returned home, this is what greeted us in our backyard:

We left home, drove the entire length of the Village, some 15 winding miles, to the west gate, and turned on highway 7 and went another 7 miles to what is known as the Jessiville Country Club.  Here is their sign:

It was our last get-together for our current "Breaking Bread" group.  I allowed myself to have a hamburger (out of this world delicious) and an incredibly wonderful milkshake.  What can I say?  Life is good!

And just when you think that you've had a great day, and it can't get any better, you pass something breathtakingly beautiful on the way home.

I think that this is probably the fawn that I saw last week.  Though if it is, fawns grow faster than I would have guessed.  The mother was nearby but the pictures of her weren't as good as this one of her off-spring.

Praise to God for the beauty of this day and His endless mercies.
