I did it! I began my morning with a devotional. I wasn't sure if or when the contractor would return to pick up his supplies and finish up, so I did my devotional in a very comfortable chair with a cup of awesome coffee that my sweet husband made. I only meant to read one of the 365 devotionals, but they were "so" good and I am "so" far behind, and they were so readable that I got in 20!
So it is all about me, and I am feeling better and better about that "me" each day.
By the time I had gotten through devotionals, prayers, emails, and a short "to do" list, it was time for lunch.
Hubby and I headed out with our list, bags, and went to lunch. Next stop: Wal-mart. At about 15 miles away, it is our closest place to buy a variety of items. We needed some flower pots and a few dairy items that I can't get at the Farmer's Market.
Our next stop was the Farmer's Market, where I have earned myself quite a reputation as "the volunteer who started on the day that everything fell apart."
I appreciate the compliment, but I didn't have the sense or the energy to lose my calm that day. It was beginner's luck. And I am thankful for that.
In preparation for the family coming in, I had ordered 9 packages of pork chops, each containing two, a roast, two pounds of bacon, some "natural" bacon, some smoked bacon, and a few other items for this week.
Tomorrow evening we will have bison mini-meatloaves (low-fat for the hubby), sauteed spinach from the Farmer's Market, and some fresh strawberries and Arkansas grown peaches.
Just to be honest, the bananas are neither organic, nor are they from Arkansas! LOL!!!
Afterwards we came home, unloaded, and of course, headed out for Friday night catfish.
About three weeks ago, in the very crowded club house at Isabella, we shared a table with strangers. We have now had dinner with them three weeks in a row. They are no longer strangers, as I actually called them this afternoon to see if they would like to join us. And while I didn't take a picture of their most incredible Thunderbird convertible or them, I did take a few shots of the golf course.....
I meant to take a picture of the catfish platter, but I had forgotten until Charlie had started on his. Mine was grilled and not nearly as lovely as his...
These two golf courses are Isabella, where we have been having our Friday night catfish, and the other is Diamante, the only private club in the Village. I've played this lovely hole (last photo) once. And while it chewed me up, no doubt that there is some incredible beauty there.
God's riches blessings on your weekend.
