Sunday was a rare day for us to take a stroll through the Dallas Arboretum with few people out and about. We enjoyed the display of bright colors, peaceful trails, and even a lovely bride-to-be posing for pictures.
July has crept in with temperatures in the 70's to low 80's. We continue to have rain (huge downpours) almost every day. The sun is a rare sight in our parts, as of late.
This week I made a menu, something that I had literally dropped doing with the chaos that has been around this summer. We've enjoyed several new recipes so far this week. Tonight I will be making dinner to take over for a friend who had surgery recently and will be starting chemotherapy soon.
We took a walk around the neighborhood last night. It was pleasant, although a bit mushy here and there and muddy in places on the sidewalk.
My heart is longing for the grandchildren. I wish that they lived closer (all three) or that we lived nearer. My wishes are just that. I must be content with the few visits that can be squeezed in every few months.
Wow, what gorgeous pictures! It makes me want to go to the Arboretum. Of course, by the time I get all the way over there, it would be pouring again...
ReplyDeleteYou're such an awesome grandmother. I love reading how you long to be with your grandkids. I know they feel that, and it blesses your children as well.
