It was a lovely day on the golf course today. The wind wasn't bad, the temperatures were just right, and the sky was overcast. Perfect! We played 18 holes with a delightful couple from our club.
We enjoyed seeing friends at church this morning. It's always good to see familiar faces each week.
So, where in the Big World Am I?
On Thursday when I last tried to post, I lost my entire post. It was late, and I was tired, so I gave up. This is my first time to actually have time to write since then.
On Thursday I returned a phone call to my doctor's nurse, thinking that she was trying to reach me for results from the allergy tests that I had done a few weeks ago. As it turns out, she wanted to tell me that the doctor found a nodule on my lungs in the chest x-rays that he had done at the hospital. I was shocked. It was such an unexpected piece of news.
I had 2 hours of a pretty serious pity party. When one has had cancer, done chemotherapy, radiation, and multiple surgeries, one often times does not handle words like "nodule" well...
I called my oncologist and left a message later Thursday afternoon. I had to go out Friday morning to work the table for Relay for Life for the quilt that we are raffling to make money for The American Cancer Society. I probably didn't return home until almost 2 PM. I was so very tired from being out in the wind and cold that I didn't notice until late that the oncologist hadn't returned my call.
Saturday passed by quickly in the late morning and early afternoon hours. Then Hubby and I traveled to see a high school basketball game made up of the top 25 players in the state from 2AA schools. It was delightful getting to see the young man our son-in-law had recommended play an excellent game. Afterwards we enjoyed a fun dinner with two basketball players, our daughter, and her husband.
Tomorrow I'll concentrate on calling the oncologist to see what my next step needs to be. It will probably involve a trip to the hospital to pick up x-rays. And it could be the waiting game, if he agrees with the pulmonary allergist that I need to wait an additional two months for the next set of x-rays. The audience is listening...
