The harsh winter days that we experienced this year were worth it, if measured in the beauty of things blooming in our backyard. We are enjoying the array of colors that cheerfully greet us.
The promise of rain has been in the forecast for at least five days, but nothing similar to moisture has occurred. We remain on level 3 water rationing.
Charles surgery went well, according to our early morning return to the doctor yesterday. His eye is "settling," which is apparently good. The next appointment is for Tuesday morning. Since Charles' vision is not yet good, another day off work is on the schedule for him.
It has been quiet at our house with all of our adult children and their families busy with their lives, Charles' sleeping under the effects of pain medications, and only Skye to break the silence of our home. It is at those times when I am most grateful for Skye because I feel so very alone.
I'm excited to get back to work tomorrow. My co-worker with whom I job share is coming in. I dearly love working with her, as we have much in common and can share laughs. Of course, we also will be finishing up our inventory. It will be interesting to see what the status of our library count is.
